Industrial Design Arts

A Steam Car Built of Wood

Now that sounds like a dumb idea...but I am trying to start a nationwide movement with a brand new army of industrial designers/innovators/creators. This country became a world power by doing exactly that. Of course lots of ideas failed. But that's just part of the process.

Another idea might be to use a Harley Davidson motor...or even two Vespas side by side, and enclosed. My idea here is to get this movement going.

In truth, a project this ambitious may well involve about a dozen different guys with a range of skill neccessary to do the job.

Publishing an idea is a way to "Establish a Prior Date". Once an idea is submitted, your real name, and address will be retained, and you will also retain all commercial arights and the intellectual property will belong to you.

Having said that...I have presented here a number of the product development/inventions I have engaged in over the past 30 years. I have submitted an idea for an energy efficient vehicle above, via the heading "Steam Car Made of Wood". Sounds nutty, in truth it is well within the grasp of a large number of people who have developed skills in a variety of areas over heir lifetime. This project can be accomplished, admittedly with a lot of skill, and tools, and determination to succeed. In the meantime, I invite anyone out there with drafting skills to submittheir design for consideration. You will be credited with the authorship, and receive all royalty entitlements should your design be a feasible, handsome, and workable concept...a concept car, if you will. Here's your chance. Show us what you've got!

It would be nice for someone showing his or her work to others, that some explanation about the what, the why, and the how to be divulge to those interested in your work.Ideally, one might be able to offer a work for sale.

This is the reality of spending days, weeks, months on a particular piece...say a quilt, for example. The cost of materials and the labor intensive investment can not realistically ever be -re-couped ! I wish to convey this critically important fact to any buyer of any hand crafted thing on this site. I'd have to say that pretty much all of us engaged in developing a skill and technique in a given medium - we do this for the pleasure it give us, - the sense of self worth and gratification of accomplishing something.

THEREFORE...any buyer of any object found herein will not involve much profit...and more likely a significant loss for the artist/craftsman. I believe I can say that these are objects of value, and done at cost or below most of the time, if not all of the time.
