A Steam Car Built of Wood
Now that sounds like a dumb idea...but I am trying to start a nationwide movement with a brand new army of industrial designers/innovators/creators. This country became a world power by doing exactly that. Of course lots of ideas failed. But that's just part of the process.
Another idea might be to use a Harley Davidson motor...or even two Vespas side by side, and enclosed. My idea here is to get this movement going.
In truth, a project this ambitious may well involve about a dozen different guys with a range of skill neccessary to do the job.
Publishing an idea is a way to "Establish a Prior Date". Once an idea is submitted, your real name, and address will be retained, and you will also retain all commercial arights and the intellectual property will belong to you.
Yes, yes...this is soo peculiar. Creative people come up with good ideas, but admittedly, many of them are laughable and we know it. But this is how you come up with something good. Also, admittedly, it is a little poetic, isn't it? That when you pull into your friend's driveway in the winter, and your steam car billows out prodigious clouds of steam as you arrive. For one thing, it would be fun as hell.
I can picture large wheels, with wire spokes, a roll bar carriage on a light frame with flexible suspension. And around this is a light scantling framework, like a light aircraft with a silk covering. Convertible, and with a classic rag top for a two seater; Dusenburg pipes out the front cowling for cooling the boiler...nice, huh? A class act with low windshield, graceful , sweeping fenders of aluminum, spare wheel on the back trunk. Has to sell for under $10K.
I will draw one and post it soon.
