Single Ended Pentode Vacuum Tube Audio Amplifier
What's New with My Site? Here below are images of an 8 watt per channel, 8 WPC.
Here I display new photos of my single Ended Pentode amp. A design by Claus Byrith. This amp is twice as large and heavy as my Blueberry amp on the other pages of this site. I made an effort to build this amp as a Monobloc. Turns out it takes up too much space to fit on an average shelf. I have decided to build a really nice cabinet for it. The project has included, so far, some 27 board feet of furniture grade Maple.
I purchased a matched set of "components". ( The term used for audio sources designed to pair with a power amp.) I enclosed the amplifier first; then built a cabinet to contain the Marantz FM Tuner. Above that is a Marantz CD/DVD Player.
I am proceeding with my "cabinet plan" to permit the entire thing to be rolled around, as an "entertainment center" that can be moved from den to living room ~ and even outside to the patio. This cabinet will probably be about 6 feet in height. I am thinking I would like it to contain/house a 22" flat screen TV ~ maybe a bit larger. Modest sized TV's like this are not so costly. I also plan for this roll away media center to contain a pair of high end audio speakers that I shall design and build also. Those will be costly, utilizing the latest generation of Full Range Speakers, which are phenomenal. In the end, this will be a quite expensive entertainment center/home theater. About the cost of a good used car that one would expect to last ten years ( good luck with that ). But this will not require insurance, and expenses for oil and gas !
